San Leandro is just five minutes away from the Oakland International Airport, 20 miles from San Francisco International Airport and 30 miles to San Jose International Airport. BART light rail system has two stations, Bayfair and Downtown, making San Francisco and its attractions easily accessible. San Leandro has a healthy local economy, and a long list of major industry employers, such as Coca Cola, Ghiradelli Chocolate Co, Otis Spunkmeyer, and Kraft/General Foods. San Leandro Unified School District is dedicated to working “together with parents and the community to develop critical and creative thinkers, who are knowledgeable, responsible, caring participants who contribute to a changing world.” They have eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.
