Bordering the Suisun Bay in eastern Contra Costa County, unincorporated Bay Point is nestled west of the city of Pittsburg and northeast of Concord. The BART Pittsburg-Bay Point Station terminal is located in Bay Point and State Route 4, also known as the Delta Highway, which runs through Bay Point. Airports: 47 miles from San Francisco International Airport, 39 miles from Oakland International Airport, and 57 miles from San Jose International Airport. The city has access to one BART station the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station located in Pittsburg near Bay Point. Local bus transportation is provided by Tri Delta Transit.
Explore the bay by visiting McAvoy Yacht Harbor, located one mile from the center of Bay Point, considered one of the best fishing areas on the California Delta. Oceanus Marine Group is also a great destination located 4.7 miles from the center of Bay Point. Bay Point Spring Derby Parade and Festival is held every Memorial Day, free to the public, offering food, arts and crafts, and entertainment. Be sure to check out the Farmers Market in nearby Pittsburg, on Saturday mornings 9-1pm, May 1st – October 30th, on Railroad Avenue, between 5th and 6th Streets.
Mount Diablo, one of the largest school districts in California, with over 56 school sites and programs, is committed to supporting students in achieving meaningful outcomes to prepare them for a successful future. There are three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school located in Bay Point. Los Medanos Community College is also a great community resource.
